Bias Assignment: Herbalist is incapable of curing cancer

In this passage, the writer insisted that herbalists are incapable of curing cancer. This is due to a case of a female patient, who had lost her life because of breast cancer. The writer revealed the fact that the patient was actually in an earlier stage of cancer and would have recovered if receive treatment by western medicine earlier. Instead of having diagnosis by a doctor who practised western medicine, the patient chose to seek help from a herbalist. However, the herbalist was failed to diagnosis precisely. He assured her that she had only a mild inflammation and nothing bad had happened to her. Yet, the situation got worse instead, the female patient's condition deteriorated and she had experienced a tremendous pain in her breast. Finally, she resorted to western medicine in the hope that she could be healed. Unfortunately, it was too late as she was at a final stage of cancer, which was a dead end. After all, she passed away as she could no longer sustained the torture of the evil---Tumour.

This passage shows the bias of the writer. However the bias may not be true. The writer may fail to take the ability of the concerned herbalist into deep consideration. What if it is due the concerned herbalist's inability? This is certainly not convincing enough as this does not reveal the real situation correctly. This does not reflect the capability of every herbalist to heal cancer . It is also given that in the few decades, there were cancer patients who resorted to herbalists and got fully recovered from illness. Does this reveal the inability of the herbalists? Certainly not! One should perceive events objectively because subjectivity will only lead to bias. For example, it is rational that the parents of the patients insisted and claimed that it was due to the herbalists' inability. This is because they are participants and are often blinded to the fact that there are some exceptions (successful cases) in which cancer patients got healed by herbalists.

Given the aforementioned aguments, it is therefore inappropriate and irrational to conclude that the herbalists are incapable of curing cancer.
